MotoGP Assen: Brilliant Bagnaia extends Moto2 World Championship lead

Pecco Bagnana extended his Moto2 World Championship lead from one to sixteen points after a masterful lights-to-flag win at Assen. After leading all free practice sessions and qualifying on pole position, the Italian was firm favourite for victory, and he delivered. After a perfect start, Bagnaia consistently banged out perfect laps to slowly edge away from the chasing field. By half race distance the Sky Racing VR46 rider had grown his gap to two seconds, with the two-second cushion, the 21-year-old managed the gap to go on to claim his fourth win of 2018 by 1.7 seconds.
