MotoGP Assen: Martin takes World Championship lead with Moto3 win

Jorge Martin took the lead of the Moto3 World Championship after winning in Assen, with previous World Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi crashing out on the final lap. The pole sitter took the whole shot off the line and tried to break away from the rest of the field before they could latch on. Despite putting a second into the chasing group, Martin was joined by Aron Canet, Enea Bastianini, John McPhee and Bezzecchi. The front five then set about a typically cat and mouse Moto3 race with all five riders constantly changing position and working each other out throughout the lap, all perfectly aware that the race would come down to the final laps.
