Lorenzo Baldassarri eased to victory in the Moto2 Spanish Grand Prix ahead of Miguel Oliveira, while Francesco Bagnaia held onto his championship lead after Alex Marquez crashed out. Last year's Jerez winner Marquez grabbed the advantage off the line to lead into Turn 1, while poleman Baldassarri slipped to third. Baldassarri regrouped to take second on the second lap, and by lap three took the lead away from Marquez into Dry Sac, with Bagnaia demoting the Spaniard to third briefly.
