Rossi backs Lorenzo to rebound in Jerez

Valentino Rossi has backed former MotoGP teammate Jorge Lorenzo to recover from a poor start to his second season at Ducati in the next race at Jerez. Lorenzo lies a lowly 16th in the standings after the first three rounds of the 2018 campaign, having retired from the opener in Qatar before finishing 15th in Argentina and then 11th last time out in Austin. The Spaniard said in particular his lacklustre showing at the Circuit of the Americas was "difficult to accept", and left him feeling "very sad", and his woes are compounded by teammate Andrea Dovizioso leading the championship by a single point from Honda's Marc Marquez.
