Rossi declared fit to contest Italian GP
– Valentino Rossi has been cleared to contest this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello.Yamaha rider Rossi sustained mild thoracic and abdominal trauma during a motocross training accident last Thursday and spent the night in hospital in Rimini.He returned home to recover and brace himself for medical checks ahead of his home round, describing the pain as "still severe" in Yamaha's pre-race preview on Wednesday.However, Rossi managed to pass Thursday's medical check-up.He was declared fit by FIM Medical Director Dr Giancarlo Di Filippo, Mugello Circuit Chief Medical Officer Dr Remo Barbagli and MotoGP Medical Director Dr Angel Charte.Rossi sits third in the standings, 23...
