Marc Marquez secures Brno MotoGP pole with frantic final lap

Marc Marquez will start the Brno MotoGP race from pole position after a frantic final lap which saw him overtake championship rival Valentino Rossi to cross the finish line quickest. The Honda rider posted a sensational 1m54.596s laptime to beat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo by just over two-tenths. Marquez looked under pressure as he left it to the final minutes to post his quickest time, which saw him overtake Rossi at the final turn to ensure he wasn't held up. He also came close to making contact with Pol Espargaro's Tech 3 bike as he raced up to its rear tyre as he crossed the line.
