Marquez fit to compete in qualifying after hospital checks

Marc Marquez will take part in the rest of the Austrian Grand Prix weekend following hospital checks, it has been confirmed. The Spaniard crashed during third practice at Turn 3 while trying to avoid teammate Dani Pedrosa, the fall resulting in a dislocated shoulder. While the shoulder was soon corrected, Marquez was subsequently taken to hospital for a precautionary CT scan amid fears that he may have sustained a blow to the head in the crash. However, he was cleared well in time for Free Practice 4, and will thus carry on participating in the Red Bull Ring weekend. The two-time MotoGP champion is currently 48 points clear of nearest rival Jorge Lorenzo in the standings.
