Yamaha announces Vinales to partner Rossi in 2017
Yamaha's factory MotoGP team has officially confirmed the arrival of Spanish rider Maverick Vinales on a two-year contract. Vinales, replacing the Ducati-bound Jorge Lorenzo, will partner Valentino Rossi at Yamaha in 2017 and 2018, as previously reported by Motorsport.com. The statement from Yamaha reads: "It is with great pleasure that Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd announces the signing of Maverick Vinales to ride for the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team for 2017 and 2018.
