Pedrosa 'so happy' with Motegi win
Dani Pedrosa admits it has been a long time coming as he finally claimed his first victory of this season in Japan on Sunday. Starting sixth on the grid at a wet Motegi circuit Pedrosa was cautious in the opening laps before hitting his stride. Passing the Andrea Dovizioso he set about hauling in Valentino Rossi before eating into Jorge Lorenzo's three second lead. As the Yamaha rider began to struggle with his tyres, Pedrosa upped the pace to blast past on the main straight. He raced to an emphatic win, taking the chequered flag by 8.5s to claim his first race win since Brno 2014. "I'm so happy with this win!" said the Spaniard.
