Dovizioso puts Ducati on top in FP1 at Mugello
Andrea Dovizioso put his Ducati on the top spot in FP1 to give the partisan Italian fans plenty to celebrate on day one at Mugello. Dovizioso edged to the front after Danilo Petrucci had set the early pace on the new-look Octo Telematics Pramac Ducati, clocking a lap in 1m 48.025s on the factory GP15. However, Movistar Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo – seeking a third consecutive MotoGP victory this weekend following his wins at Jerez and Le Mans – also enjoyed a spell in P1, lapping in 1m 47.984s to take over from Dovi, with last year's Mugello winner Marc Marquez third on the Repsol Honda from Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) and Ducati's Andrea Iannone.
