Mir ‘so happy' to achieve ‘unbelievable' second podium in a row in Misano
Joan Mir has said that his podium finish at the Emilio Romagna GP was 'unbelievable' after starting the race from P11 on the grid. The number 36 Suzuki pilot qualified just outside the top 10 but was able to muscle his way to an impressive 2nd place finish just behind the Factory Yamaha of Maverick Viñales, who started from pole. The feat sees an all-Spanish MotoGP podium with KTM's Pol Espargaro taking the remaining top spot. Mir's result also puts him just four points away from the championship lead – which is currently being held by Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso.
