Maverick Vinales extends Yamaha stay to end of 2022

Maverick Vinales will remain part of the Yamaha MotoGP factory squad until at least the end of the 2022 season, the Japanese marque announced in a statement. Vinales was softly linked to a potential move to Ducati at the end of his current Yamaha deal that runs to the end of this year, but has decided to remain with his current squad he has competed at since leaving Suzuki at the end of his ’16 campaign. Vinales says he is “excited” about his extended Yamaha stay, the Spaniard eyeing continued progress as he aims to secure a maiden MotoGP world title.
