Grand Prix legend Freddie Spencer appointed FIM Stewards Chairman
Grand Prix legend Freddie Spencer has been appointed Chairman of the FIM MotoGP Stewards Panel for 2019, taking over the role from Race Director Mike Webb. Spencer took two 500cc world titles during his career in '83 and '85, the second of which backed up with the 250cc crown that same year, making him the last rider in history to win two championships in one season. Since retiring, Spencer has continued to race in classic events while also taking up a commentary role in recent years with Eurosport for its World Superbike coverage.
