MotoGP Buriram: Rossi pace down to marriage of track and tyre

Valentino Rossi has admitted Yamaha’s pace in Buriram is a surprise to the team as much as anybody else, as he managed to qualifying on the front row ahead of tomorrow’s 27-lap MotoGP race. The Italian qualified 18th two weeks ago in Aragon and despite minimal changes, Rossi said that nobody was expecting the bike to work so well here, especially after struggling in the pre-season test in Thailand. “It’s a surprise also for us,” said the nine-time world champion. “In the test we were quite in trouble in this track. “But we arrived yesterday and feel not so bad in the practice.
