HRC open to keeping Dani Pedrosa in a test role

HRC team boss Alberto Puig admits Honda is open to the retiring Dani Pedrosa remaining with Honda as a MotoGP test rider, but says the decision will be down to Pedrosa. Pedrosa announced on the eve of the German Grand Prix that he would be retiring from racing at the end of the 2018 season, despite rumours linking him to a seat with the Petronas Yamaha team. Numerous riders have remained in MotoGP in test roles after their retirements, most notably double world champion Casey Stoner, who was an HRC tester before returning to Ducati in the same role in 2016.
