Joan Mir will choose MotoGP regardless of Moto2 success this year if the opportunity arises

Reigning Moto3 world champion Joan Mir says he will go to MotoGP next year if he feels prepared enough regardless of how much success he has in his debut Moto2 campaign. Mir dominated last year's lightweight class, winning 10 races on his way to the title with Leopard Honda and securing a multi-year deal with the Marc VDS team to step up to Moto2. The Spaniard – who ended his Moto2 debut in Qatar 11th having started 24th – has been linked with a number of teams amid MotoGP's current 'silly season'.
