Marc Márquez leads opening day of Phillip Island test

Reigning world champion Marc Márquez set the quickest time during the opening day of MotoGP’s second pre-season test at Phillip Island. Repsol Honda rider Márquez, who clinched his third title in the premier class in 2016, posted a time of 1:29.497 to finish 0.186s clear of Yamaha rival Valentino Rossi at the home of the Australian Grand Prix. Suzuki’s Andrea Iannone moved up to third late on, shuffling Yamaha's Maverick Viñales down to fourth, while Cal Crutchlow wound up fifth for LCR Honda.
