Brembo says cause of Jorge Lorenzo's Qatar brake failure 'resolved'
Brake supplier Brembo has said the problem that caused Jorge Lorenzo to retire from the season-opening Qatar Grand Prix last month has been 'identified and resolved'. The Ducati rider had to jump off of his bike when his brakes failed at Turn 4 on lap 12, forcing him to retire from the race where he had been running in tenth place. He admitted he had been 'lucky' to escape injury and the fact that the failure happened at a slower speed corner. 'I was catching [Andrea] Iannone, I tried to pass.
