MotoGP: Iannone to undergo further checks before deciding to continue

Andrea Iannone may yet compete in his home Grand Prix this weekend at Misano despite breaking his back in yesterday’s free practice sessions, with the Italian set to undergo further medical checks this morning. Iannone fell heavily during the session after touching the white line of turn thirteen, and was taken to local hospital by helicopter for scans, where he was diagnosed with a broken T3 vertebra. And despite being initially ruled out of the race by medical staff, the Ducati rider will now undergo further checks this morning to decide if he will be able to continue this weekend. “On the fifth lap of FP1 I lost the front at Turn 13, crashed and began to roll in the gravel....
