Marquez admits pushing too hard late in Silverstone race

Marc Marquez said he took too many risks in the final stages of the Silverstone MotoGP race, as he believed he could have finished second. Joining the frontrunners soon after the start, Marquez was in contention for second place throughout the entire race as Maverick Vinales made good his escape at the head of the field. After a fierce duel with Valentino Rossi for third, Marquez eventually cleared the Italian and attacked Cal Crutchlow for the runner-up spot. However, Marquez ran wide at Stowe during their fight, dropped to fifth and could only recover one position on teammate Dani Pedrosa until the finish.
