Silverstone MotoGP: Crutchlow masters rain for home pole
Cal Crutchlow once again took advantage of wet conditions to secure pole position for his home MotoGP round at Silverstone, lapping nearly a full second clear of nearest rival Valentino Rossi. With a mesmerising laptime of 2m19.265s, Crutchlow became the first home rider to take a premier class pole for the British Grand Prix since Barry Sheene in 1977. It is the third career pole for the LCR Honda rider, and his first since Brno 2013.
