Satellite MotoGP teams get guaranteed grid slots until 2021
The satellite MotoGP teams have signed an agreement with series promoter Dorna Sports that will secure their slots in the championship until 2021. In its push to make the MotoGP championship more sustainable, Dorna and the seven independent teams on the grid have made an agreement that will see a series of measures coming into place from next season. Among them is the commitment from the manufacturers leasing their bikes to set a maximum price of 2.2 million euros per unit. Each satellite team will receive a 2.2m euro bonus from Dorna, while the manufacturer will also receive a payment, the amount not having been made public.
