International sports management company Dorna Sports have eliminated Indonesia as a candidate from hosting a 2017 MotoGP event after the Sentul circuit in Bogor, West Java, failed to fully meet their hosting stipulations. According to Ministry of Youth and Sport spokesperson Gatot Dewa Broto, Dorna let Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi know about their decision on July 6 in a letter.
