Team Suzuki Ecstar rider Maverick Viñales topped Friday mornings MotoGP FP1 in Montmeló ahead of Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo. The 21-year old Viñales topped the timesheets by 0.078s ahead of Lorenzo with his time of 1m 42.065s. The early part of proceedings was dominated by Lorenzo until Viñales bettered his time towards the end of the session.
