Mugello MotoGP: Hernandez tops damp opening practice
Aspar Ducati rider Yonny Hernandez went fastest in the first practice session for this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, taking advantage of a damp track to get the top spot. Few riders ventured out in the difficult conditions early in the session, but Hernandez was among those circulating on wet tyres, setting the pace at the halfway mark with a time of 2m00.349s. But the times plunged in the final 15 or so minutes as the track began to dry, with all the best times being set on Michelin's new-for-2016 intermediate rubber. Scott Redding took the top spot away from Hernandez when he ventured out on intermediates to set a 1m58.878s, which he quickly improved to a 1m57.891s before...
