Bradl expecting surgery after scaphoid fracture

Stefan Bradl is expecting surgery after fracturing the scaphoid bone in his right wrist during a fall in Saturday's Dutch MotoGP at Assen. The German was the top Open rider in 15th when he lost the rear of his Forward Yamaha. Bradl immediately left the track for Munich where he will probably have surgery in the next few days. “Too bad, my race ended earlier than expected when I was leading the Open class and I was close to the points," Bradl said. "I lost the rear and I could not do anything to prevent the fall. Unfortunately I broke my right scaphoid in the impact and I probably will have to undergo surgery.” Bradl now faces a race against time to be fit for his home round...
