Rossi back on top in rain-affected FP3

Valentino Rossi was back in control at Assen as the Movistar Yamaha rider headed a rain-interrupted FP3. The MotoGP World Championship leader hit the top at the end of the session on his M1 with a lap in 1m 33.167s to edge out team-mate Jorge Lorenzo by 0.108s. Ducati pair Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso finished third and fourth respectively, with Iannone only 0.017s behind Lorenzo. As the rain began to fall at the beginning of the session, the riders returned to the pits for around 10 minutes, with Suzuki's Maverick Vinales the first to venture back out again as the surface began to dry.
