Dutch TT to be held on Sunday from 2016

– Dutch TT organisers have confirmed that the race will be held on a Sunday from the 2016 season, to bring it in line with the other events on the MotoGP calendar.Assen is the only surviving circuit from the inaugural 1949 World Championship calendar, and has always staged its race on the last Saturday of June, originally for religious reasons.Discussions over moving the race to a Sunday have gathered pace in recent seasons and, after "careful consideration", the TT board has opted to make the change.Assen hopes that moving to a standard race weekend format will boost crowd numbers, with the board expecting turnover to increase by five to 10 per cent in the medium-to-long...
