Moto2 staying single engine post-2018
Dorna and the FIM are to begin talks with potential candidates for the post-2018 Moto2 engine supply. Moto2 has been a single-engine championship, using identical Honda CBR600 powerplants, since it replaced the 250cc two-stroke class in 2010. The announcement regarding the 2019 discussions confirmed that the future Moto2 deal will again be as “the exclusive engine supplier”. “The goal of this first stage of consultation will be to take in feedback from manufacturers to further foster the key values of the Moto2 class: keep it accessible and affordable, and offer a level playing field to teams and riders by providing reliable and consistently performing engine units,” the statement...
