Hungary set to join 2022 MotoGP schedule

MotoGP organisers Dorna Sports have announced a preliminary agreement to return to Hungary at a new circuit for 2022. The premier motorcycle racing series last visited the country in 1992 as part of the 500cc era at the Hungaroring, with the new venue set to be constructed in the east of Hungary. Dorna have come to a Memorandum of Understanding - effectively a preliminary agreement - to hold five grands prix covering the ’22 through to the ’26 campaigns, with the final decision on the circuit and location of the event expected early next year.
