Maverick Vinales put Yamaha on top in FP2 for the Dutch TT at Assen, setting a blistering lap 0.180 faster than FP1 pace setter Fabio Quartararo. Vinales left it late to take the top spot, heading out with a pair of soft compound Michelin tires to demote Andrea Dovizioso to second with a time nearly three-tenths faster. He then shaved off another few tenths on his very next lap to go over six-tenths clear at the top, while the other riders also ventured out for a final fast lap attempt on new softs.
