Jerez Moto2 test: Binder edges Lowes to top spot

Britain’s Sam Lowes lost out to Red Bull KTM’s Brad Binder by less than one one-hundredth of a second on the combined, three-day Jerez Moto2 test timesheet. The pair’s one-lap pace at the Spanish circuit was blistering with both Binder and Lowes doing 1’40.98s laps which is a tenth slower than Valentino Rossi’s 2004 pole lap on the 990cc Yamaha YZR-M1. Binder’s best of 1’40.982, using a KTM chassis, was set in this morning’s first session while Lowes, whose Federal Oils Gresini team have Kalex, was 0.007s slower in the lunchtime outing.
