Jakub Kornfeil stormed to his maiden Moto3 pole position with time expired after a farcical end to the Moto3 qualifying session in Brno. With Di Giannantonio sitting on a provisional pole and the majority of the field sitting waiting around in typical Moto3 fashion, Kornfeil, John McPhee, Marcos Ramirez and Phillip Oettl managed to get a new lap started before the chequered flag came out, something over half the field failed to do after sitting waiting around.
