MotoGP Assen: Martin fights through the pain for Moto3 pole

Pole specialist Jorge Martin fought through the pain to claim a record breaking fourteenth Moto3 pole position. The Spaniard suffered a nasty crash during yesterday’s Moto3 FP2 and after only finishing this morning FP3 session eighth fastest. Despite the injury to his ankle and the subsequent pain, Martin waited until the closing stages to claim the top spot from Bastianini with Nico Bulega rounding out the front row. Martin was the early leader before Bastiniani came to the top of the timing sheets with fifteen minutes to go.
