Bautista admits MotoGP future hinges on Pedrosa

MotoGP veteran Alvaro Bautista admits his future in grand prix motorcycling’s top tier is likely to hinge on whether Dani Pedrosa joins the mooted new satellite Yamaha outfit. Pedrosa is widely expected to be part of a new Petronas-backed, Sepang owned-operation next season, taking the seat that had been earmarked for his 2019 replacement at the works Honda team, Jorge Lorenzo.  However, official confirmation of the agreement between Yamaha and the Malaysian oil giant has yet to arrive, with Pedrosa himself having remained tight-lipped about his future plans following the news of his impending departure from Honda.
