Xavier Simeon secures 2018 MotoGP seat with Avintia

Xavier Siméon will graduate to MotoGP with Avintia next season, completing the championship’s 24-rider line-up. Siméon, 28, has spent the last eight years in Moto2, with a best of seventh in the 2015 standings, via victory at the German Grand Prix. Siméon holds 21st in this year’s standings but will step up to MotoGP next season, alongside Tito Rabat. “This is a fantastic opportunity and I have been working hard for it for a lot of years,” said Siméon. “I’m really happy to realise this dream that has followed me since my childhood.
