Motegi gets new five-year MotoGP deal

– Motegi will remain as the host of the Japanese Grand Prix after signing a new five-year deal with MotoGP officials.Motegi first hosted the championship in 1999, under the Japanese Grand Prix banner, and from 2000 to 2003 was designated the Pacific Grand Prix, with Suzuka retained on the calendar.However, Suzuka dropped off the schedule for 2004 and Motegi has remained as the permanent Japanese Grand Prix venue since, a status it will now retain through 2023.The agreement was reached to mark the 20th anniversary of the circuit's opening.The previous contract, signed in 2012, was set to expire in 2018.
