Smith: Midfield grid slot will aid KTM
– Bradley Smith reckons KTM's mid-grid start at the French Grand Prix will boost the manufacturer's development curve, after the team pulled off a surprise qualifying result at Le Mans.KTM has joined MotoGP full-time this year and began the season at the back of the grid, before gradually making gains, Smith qualifying 16th at Jerez, one place behind team-mate Pol Espargaró.Espargaró and Smith both profited from drying conditions in Saturday's third practice session to secure automatic passage to Q2, in which they placed eighth and 10th respectively.Smith believes their higher-than-usual grid berths will enabled KTM to better analyse its bike up against its opponents in race...
