Rins suffers back injury after Valencia testing crash

MotoGP rookie Alex Rins has suffered two compressed vertebrae following an incident in the second day of post-season testing at Valencia, which saw both Suzuki riders crash. Rins, who finished in 21st on his first official day of MotoGP testing on Tuesday, lost control of his GSX-RR bike at Turn 12 and hit the barrier in the first hour of Wednesday's running. His bike's rear was completely destroyed, and he was taken away on a stretcher. At the trackside medical centre, Rins was diagnosed with an injury to his T8 and T12 vertebrae and is set to be out of action for around a month, which will force him to miss an upcoming test planned later this month at Sepang.
