Barcelona extends MotoGP deal to 2021
– MotoGP organisers have announced that the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will remain on the calendar until at least 2021, after a five-year contract extension was agreed.Barcelona has hosted a round of the championship since 1992; it was initially known as the European Grand Prix (1992-1995) and later the Catalan Grand Prix (from 1996).Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, welcomed the renewal."Without a doubt, the renewal of the contract with the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya until 2021 is fantastic news for MotoGP and all the fans," said Ezpeleta after putting pen to paper."It is an institution that has been tied to us since the beginning, [when the track hosted...
