Dovizioso beats Yamaha duo to Malaysian GP pole

Ducati MotoGP rider Andrea Dovizioso stormed to pole position for the Malaysian Grand Prix in wet conditions at the Sepang International Circuit. The Italian put in two laps quick enough for pole during the final Q2 session, with his last improvement of a 2m11.485 snatching him first place on the grid. After a dry third practice session, conditions were damp for qualifying after rain between the two sessions. It’s Dovizioso’s second pole position of the 2016 MotoGP season, with the Yamaha duo of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo two and a half tenths further back.
