Marc Marquez, like Jonathan Rea but with more competition, ran away with the 2018 MotoGP World Championship but had to fall off a lot of times in order to do so. The Repsol Honda man lobbed it 23 times over the course of the season, and that tally would have been higher had it not been for his myriad miraculous saves which are well documented. In the final analysis, it was a two-horse race which ended again at Honda's home track of Motegi. Marquez took nine wins compared to Andrea Dovizioso's four and led for 128 laps compared to the Italian's 117. He also covered 500 more kilometres in practices too.
